- Make no small plans: Plan BIG
- Do what they fear
What this attitude is saying is that you shouldn't fear. When you have fear you will most likely never do what you always wanted to do. When you fear when you're given a chance at a great opportunity you will most likely miss that chance. Your fear can ruin your character. When you are scared you hesitate to do things. Fear can hold you back. When you do what others fear to do, some people might respect you for it. When you finally to face what you and others fear, new opportunity will appear. I will try to apply this attitude by not hesitating and do the things I always wanted to do. Eleanor Roosevelt said, "Do one thing everyday that scares you".
- Willing to prepare
This attitude is saying you need to know what to do. You need to realize what you should do and take time to carry out that plan. Going into things unprepared will not help you. If you try to go into things unprepared you will most likely fail instantly. Trying to do things without a plan might leave you clueless or stuck in a situation. You should plan out every step, a solution to almost any problem you might come across. You need to realize most things do not happen overnight. Planning is going to help you but most likely all its gonna do is reduce the time and some problems in whatever you're striving for. I will try to use this new attitude by planning out my schedule for work from school and try to commit to it. Benjamin Franklin said, "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail."
- Willing to risk failure
People who are successful know that with every step to their goal there might be failure. As I said in the last attitude, even if you plan out what you're going to do there will always be that chance of failure. This attitude can also connect to one of the previously mentioned attitude, do what they fear. You shouldn't be scared to carry out your plan , you should take the risk. All high achievers have taken the risk and that is how they got where they are today. For example, people who start businesses know there is always a chance for them to go under and most of the time they start from the very bottom but they always go through the hardships and make it on top. You need to know that almost nothing can go without ease. There will always be that obstacle in your path and you need to overcome. If you stop at every obstacle you come across you will most likely never get anywhere in life. I will try to apply this new way by not letting every problem stop me from passing high school. William Faulkner said "You cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore."
- High achievers are teachable
No one knows every thing from the start. This is one of the many obstacles high achievers faced when reaching for their goals, learning. High achievers know that you cannot make a plan without knowing certain knowledge. Learning can mean knowing what you should be doing. It can also mean what type of skills you are going to need. It be either life lessons or skills you got from an experience. School is obviously one of the main source of knowledge. You can also learn lessons or things from people that are already at the top and learn what they did to get where they are today. I will try to apply this attitude by learning what type of job skills and experience I am going to need for the job I want to have. Meister Eckhart said "Be willing to be a beginner every single morning".
- High achievers have heart
